Connect your data collector to you computer following the manufacturer's instructions. Windows may recognize your device and install any required drivers. In some cases, it may be necessary to insert the CD that comes with your device. If prompted, do so and follow any prompts to install drivers directly from the CD.

โ€‹Collecting Data
This section demonstrates how to scan your product data that can be uploaded to your software.

  1. Turn the data collector on by pressing the red power button located in the lower right corner of the data collector.

  2. Remove the data collector from its stand.

  3. Press the ESC key if necessary until the main menu appears.

  4. There will be three options:

    • Collect Data: collects the scanned data

    • Upload Data: upload the scanned data to your software

    • Utilities: other features on the data collector

  5. Press 1 for the Collect Data option.

  6. Press the large yellow button located in the center of the data collector and scan your first product. A red light appears while scanning.

  7. If desired, change the Qty (Quantity) of product by typing in the amount and then pressing either of the blue buttons on the right of left of the yellow scanning button.

  8. Repeat Step 6 and Step 7 until all products are scanned.

Uploading Data
This section will help you successfully upload all the data you collected from your on hand inventory and decide how best to upload it to your software and update your stock count.

  1. Press the ESC button until you are at the main menu that shows the following three options:

    • Collect Data

    • Upload Data

    • Utilities

  2. Press 2 for Upload Data and return the data collector to its base. Be sure it is placed firmly on its base and is properly connected.

  3. Select Acquire Inventory From Data Collector in the Products and Services drop-down menu of your software.

  4. The Data Collector screen will appear.

  5. Select the COM Port that your data collector is configured to use in Windows. To find this number, navigate in Windows to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Your scanner may appear in the Unspecified section as Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge. The COM Port will be displayed in this name in parentheses. Select it in the COM Port drop-down in your software.

  6. Select the Add Inventory bubble to add the counted inventory to your existing inventory.

  7. Select the Re-inventory bubble if you would like to replace your existing inventory with the information recorded in the data collector.

  8. Click the Receive From Data Collector button.

  9. Your business' current stock count and quantity counted with the data collector.

  10. Make any desired changes to the Scanned Count column and click the Update Inventory button.

  11. After your inventory is updated, it is a good idea to delete any product counts in the data collector. Simply Press 1 and the confirm your choice to delete all data. This will avoid any double counting of inventory in the future.
