These instructions will show you how to format data and database tables from another program, such as another database program or Microsoft Excel, properly to be imported into your Cloud software. A separate file is required for each list of information that can be imported. At minimum, each of the following fields from the list below must be present for a new record to be created successfully in a table:

  • ID (will vary depending on the table, i.e. ClientID for Clients, EmployeeID for Employees)

  • FirstName

  • LastName

  • Name (for Suppliers)

The following information types can be imported:

  • Clients

  • Client Notes

  • Pets

  • Products

  • Services

  • Employees

The database table fields are indicated by the Column in Database in each of the tables below. The software will only import a tab delimited or CSV text file. If you are using a spreadsheet or database program for creating your files for importing, make sure to save a copy of each file as a Text (tab delimited) file and use this for importing. We recommend naming each file you create the same as the data type you will be importing.

Importing Your Files

  1. Log into your account at your software's online website.

  2. Select the Options button.

  3. Click Support then Import My Data on the left.

  4. Select the badge icon for the data type you would like to import.

  5. Select the desired option for handling duplicate entries.

  6. Click Import [Data Type Name].

  7. Select the file you created or exported from another database program.

  8. Match the column names in your uploaded file with the corresponding fields to be created in your software database. It's possible your file contains names that are different from what will be created. (This is okay! All you have to do is choose the ones that correspond. See the next section with detailed descriptions for assistance.)

  9. Click Continue Importing.

  10. Repeat steps 4-9 until all data types are imported.
